ABOUT ME

Thinking it is time to make a change in your life?  Or feeling overwhelmed or struggling with life right now? Or just wanting to function at your best?  I am here to support you through your journey to wellness and being your best self. Because each patient is unique, I ensure my treatment approaches are tailored to you. I offer you a supportive, positive, compassionate environment in which to explore your concerns and set achievable goals with you to work toward. The therapeutic relationship is one of the most important aspects of therapy. With me, you will find a judgement-free, strengths-based, integrative, person-centered foundation to counseling.  This warm, accepting approach extends to all people regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, ability, nationality, socioeconomic status, size,  religion/spirituality, craft, culture, etc.   If you find yourself needing some support, I am here for you.

With a client-centered approach to counseling, I believe you have the capacity to solve problems occurring in your life and my role is to help you through that process.  Each person is unique and will be treated with respect & dignity regardless of their presenting issue. circumstances, or life choices.  I am here to help and support you through your journey to help you achieve your goals using integrated counseling techniques as well as person-centered counseling.

I understand you may be struggling and often the hardest part is to just reach out for help and/or support. Please feel free to touch base with me  with any questions you may have via email or phone.  It can also be challenging for some people to see a therapist via telehealth as they worry if they will be able to connect with the therapist this way.  My experience has been extremely positive working with clients via telehealth.  I encourage you to try it!

A little about me..... I have made a career of helping people.  For over 25 years I have helped people with various aspects of their life through case management, intervention, and counseling.   I graduated with distinction with a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University, (CACREP accredited), with a 4.0 grade point average and went on to become a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a National Board Certified Counselor (NCC), and a Certified Compassion Fatigue Professional (CCFP).  I am also certified in Mindfulness and have completed  Cognitive Behavioral Therapy coursework through the Beck CBT Institute.  I am currently completing the Trauma Research Foundation’s Certificate in Traumatic Stress Studies.

Life is about learning and that is one of my favorite parts of counseling- helping clients learn more about themselves and learn how to lovingly accept themselves. I strive to create a counseling relationship that fosters no judgement upon any client's life and way of being, or any life choices, life preferences, identities, expressions, etc.   I accept you as you are, where you are, and accept and encourage what YOU want to work on and we go from there.

Wishing you wellness!
